Gthuuuu!

Our doctor seemed completely surprised when our then 8-week-old smiled at her, vocalized, and tried to grab her finger. Apparently, he’s doing things that parents usually don’t see for a few more weeks. We weren’t shocked, as we know he’s super genius baby. All parents think their kids are the most awesome, most brilliant little people ever, don’t they? Isn’t that annoying? In our case, it just happens to also be true…. *giggle*

So, the little guy is now 11 weeks old. He is grabbing his hands, trying to grab toys within his reach, kicking at the dangly things on his bouncy seat. He tries to kick the ducky in his bathtub. He vocalizes regularly, and has some sounds he makes regularly, like “hi” and “gthuuuu” and gentle cooing when he sees his sisters. He smiles and flirts at anyone who will stand still long enough to make eye contact, although he prefers good-looking brunettes and men with facial hair. He is sociable and likes being held, even by people he doesn’t know.

Today, he tried to reach for a toy that was just within reach. He kept smacking it with his hand, and was delighted to do so. He kept this up for about 15 minutes, and then he passed out.

He’s still spitting up entire meals every few days, but he is nonplussed. It is only a laundry inconvenience, as he’s still thriving, fat, and happy, tipping the scales at 15 pounds, I believe. I’m taking him back to the doctor for the rash behind his left ear that still hasn’t cleared up. He also has procured his first cold, so he’s super congested and sneezy. The nasal aspirator is his greatest foe.

In case you’ve noticed I haven’t been blogging much about those other children, I haven’t forgotten them. They’re around here … somewhere! I’ll update the goings on of K and L when I get a chance. Suffice to say they are doing amazing things!
